Tip 4 - Make-up

Due to popularity, this months tips focus on Make-up! Look for the hidden discount code below.

TIP FOR EYES: Apply black pencil eyeliner on the inside of your eyelid and just on the corner of your upper eyelid, then smudge it "in" from your upper eyelid to create the smokey look. Once you have done that apply loose dust over your eyelid and 2 coats of mascara on your beautiful lashes.

TIP FOR LIPS: Apply Champagne lip gloss or very light pink lip gloss without lip liner

TIP FOR CHEEKS: Apply a small very faint earth coloured liquid blush or powder (I like the liquid, especially when I'm tired because it really makes you look perky!). Apply it only on the top of your cheek bone towards your temple and blend it in so it looks really light (otherwise it'll look like you swam in make-up!).

Tip 3 - Seven Tips for Effective Presentations

This month Tips focus on Effective Presentations! Confident Public Speaking is a very important skill to have so make sure you add it to your "essential skills" list. Look out for the hidden discount code below.

  1. Know your material – when you are comfortable with the subject matter then you can concentrate on the actual delivery of your material.
  2. Know your audience – the more you know about your audience the better you can prepare your presentation to assure that you meet their needs.
  3. Know the room – become comfortable with the space that you will be using in your presentation.
  4. Relax by taking some deep breaths – this helps to release tension in your muscles and helps ensure the ‘butterflies fly in formation’.
  5. Visualise yourself giving your presentation – when you visualise a successful outcome your confidence increases.
  6. Realise that your audience wants you to succeed – your audience wants you to be interesting, stimulating, informative and entertaining. They want to be able to take away something from your presentation that they can put into practice themselves.
  7. Practise! Practise! Practise! - Rehearse out loud with any equipment you plan to use and revise as necessary.

Above all, enjoy the experience!

Tip 2 - Stay Beautiful !

This month Tips focus on Beauty! Look out for the hidden discount code below.

  • Turn Eye Shadow to Eye Liner: HOW? Dampen a cotton bud and squeeze 1-2 drops of water out of it directly into the eye shadow. With a very fine eye liner brush mix it a little and apply in on your hand to get the right texture and apply it to your eyelid! You now have a liquid eyeliner that will match your eye shadow perfectly!
  • Eyebrow Shaping Tip: Never tweeze the top of your eyebrows, as the top hairs of the eyebrow are the creation of the shape.
  • Rough Heels?: Scrub the balls, bottoms & sides of your heels & around the toes. To get the most leverage, sit on the side of a bathtub, facing inward. The pedicure motto is "smooth don't remove", remember, we have rough skin on our heels for a reason.
  • Keeping the appearance of Nail Polish: Touching up polish every other day with a layer of top coat can help make a manicure last longer. Carry a bottle of top coat in your purse, and when you have a moment or break in your day, do a quick once-over. A single layer dries quickly and makes all the difference in keeping up appearances.

eLearning: Slayer or Saviour? - Your Opinion

This is one of the more interesting arguments of the 21st century. It has divided education experts, teachers and students for even longer. eLearning: Slayer or Saviour? We want your opinion.
eLearning (similar to Online Learning) can be defined as: the delivery of a learning, training or education program by electronic means. eLearning involves the use of a computer or electronic device in some way to provide training, educational or learning material.

It differs from Online Learning in that it can incorporate the use of other media like CDs and DVDs. Not just the internet.

Is eLearning a Slayer? Some possible disadvantages include: access to technology, attitude of some tutors, teachers and students, lack of skills by students, lack of technical advice, cost to implement, lack of face-to-face interaction, lack of motivation.

Is eLearning a Saviour? Some possible advantages include: people study at their own pace in their own time, low cost to attend, overcomes attendance and travel issues, provides learning to new audiences, students become active, rather than passive learners (for example, students will be able to search for information rather than having it handed on a plate)

eLearning is not for everyone but it is increasing in popularity. The quality of eLearning providers is becoming exceptional so many of the disadvantages have been addressed. This argument will always come down to the style of learning you prefer: whether you like to work at your own pace and in your own time or whether you prefer to see other people and have more face to face instruction. Have your say.....
